Coming Attractions...Wish Me Nothing

Coming Soon!

Wish Me Nothing
A Djin story
In The Other World Collection
Available February 1, 2013

Ar and Vaughn have a great relationship. When Vaughn makes a simple slip of the tongue, Ar's life is put in jeopardy. Whatever you do, don't say "I wish".

Blurb:
Ever hear the old saying "Be careful what you wish for"?

What happens if you find out that the Djin are not just fairy tales? That could be bad. Now, what happens if you find out that your boyfriend of a year and a half is a Djin? That could be worse.

In one fateful night, Vaughn Boggs's world is turned inside out. Not only does he find out his boyfriend, Ar, is keeping a life shattering secret from him. But when other Djin threaten Ar's life, Vaughn has to work with Shan, Ar's lecherous brother, to find a way for them all to survive so they can see the next sunrise.

Vaughn isn't sure a human can take on the magicks of the Djin, and he definitely isn't sure he can trust Shan...but for Ar he's willing to wish that both are possible.

Wish Me Nothing is available for pre-order at Breathless Press

Excerpt:
"Release. Him. Now."
Vaughn's heart and breath froze. He shifted his gaze from those blue talons and slowly turned toward his lover. He had never heard such an implacably menacing sound come from Ar before. He widened his eyes at the sight before him. The Ar that he knew and loved no longer stood on this beach; in his place a monster towered, a taller, wider, thicker and darker than his boyfriend monster. His skin didn't have the golden glow caused by the sun anymore. It appeared dense, like the tough hide of an animal, a deep blue/brown mixture. His eyes swirled the elements of fire and ice combined. His teeth jutted out, sharp, jagged and just slightly protruding over his thick blue lips. Long dreadlocks, a darker version of his blue skin, now replaced the beautiful, soft, ash brown hair that Vaughn loved running his fingers through and tugging on. His hands curled and uncurled with long pointed blue talons just like the ones causing the throbbing in Vaughn's arm.
A deep rumbling laugh vibrated through him. Almost too afraid to move, Vaughn somehow got his neck to obey his commands and swung his gaze to the man who held him. The stranger no longer possessed the muscle-bound body he did mere moments ago. He too had magnified in all ways possible, his skin a slightly lighter hue than Ar's.
"If you insist, traitor." He growled right before throwing Vaughn easily two dozen feet behind him.
The wind whooshed out of Vaughn as his back collided with the hard-packed sand, yet he still attempted to scramble to his feet. The fear coursing through his system worked better than any drug on or off the market; it helped him get past the inability to fill his lungs with air problem. He managed to roll over onto his hands and knees, and then glanced up to where he'd been standing. Those two huge things faced off against each other. Oh my God...it wasn't his imagination or some bad trip from his teenage years coming back to haunt him.
"If you ever touch him again I will take your head as a trophy." That came from the one that used to be Ar.
The other one shrugged, apparently not nervous about the threat. "You will try. But we both know that you are not worthy of a fight with me. When I'm done with you I will find out what is so interesting about that human that would make you sentence yourself to death."
"Get up and get your ass into the house now. Don't look back. Don't stop. Now go!"
Vaughn fell back on his ass when the voice floated through his mind. What the fuck? Ar's voice, without a doubt. But in his head? He finally managed to get his feet beneath him, wincing with pain. Stepping backward toward the house, he kept an eye on the two blue men.
"Take one more move away from me, human, and I will have your heart in my hand before your body hits the sand."
Not Ar. Vaughn stopped. Neither of them actually made eye contact with him, but both their attentions obviously focused on him.
"He's bluffing. Run now, damn it!"
"How the hell do I know he's bluffing!" Vaughn yelled at the voice in his head, or Ar, or both maybe?
"Ar, are you conversing with the human telepathically? Interesting, indeed. Look at your lover, human. This man you lie with, allow to enter your body, isn't a man. Can you trust he serves your best interest? He recognizes his path to die tonight. He will do anything to save his pathetic existence. Listen to me. I can assure you, I only desire to bring this traitor to justice for his crimes. You may leave as soon as I have your memories stored safely. Fight me on this and your demise is imminent."
Vaughn studied Ar again, who didn't take his gaze off the stranger. "I'm still Ar, the man you've loved for over a year. Don't talk... Please Vaughn, just trust me on this. I will keep him from hurting you but you have to help me. He wants you to stay with two monsters, I want you to run. You weigh it out."
With logic like that what could Vaughn do? He spun in the sand and hauled his ass as fast as his legs could take him toward Ar's beach house.
A huge growl erupted behind him followed by a loud crashing noise. A hand grazed his ankle, causing him to fall forward and scream. He face-planted in the sand and flipped over quickly in time to witness Ar dragging the other one away by his legs.
He watched as Ar spun in a circle holding the monster in his hands, spinning faster and faster, raising the monster higher until he finally released him. The creature sailed through the night sky, finally splash-landing hundreds of feet out in the ocean.
Vaughn slumped down in short-lived relief until he glanced up to Ar stomping towards him.
"When I fucking tell you to run you do it! Now come on, we have to get to the house."

The Meaning of Things

The door slammed, leaving an abnormally heavy silence in its wake. Who knew that the absence of sound could be so loud in one's ears; that it could be so all encompassing that one might actually need to turn on the television or radio just to escape it?
Or maybe that was just Leonard's guilt drumming around in his head. He knew Ralph tipped the scales for melodramatics; that he needed to be humored when he got on one of his insane sprees. Leo shouldn't have shut him down like that. If Ralph ever dismissed Leo's feelings that quickly he damn sure would be the one hustling out the door into the cold.
He turned his head from the pillow and glanced at the clock, seven in the morning. On a normal Saturday they would be in the middle of making love right now. Ralph liked to be up every morning before dawn, he said it made him feel like he didn't waste the day away. Leo was all for the wasting, but when Ralph woke him up with surprises...well he could always go back to bed after.
Unfortunately though, the surprise this morning wasn't a warm mouth or anxious hand. Ralph had woken Leo up completely distraught about a dream he had—trying to piece together what it meant to their relationship, because all of Ralph's dreams had to have some kind of meaning behind them.
Leo head butted the pillow then swung his legs around to sit up on the side of the bed. Who was he to criticize Ralph's beliefs? So what if Ralph watched for "signs" and interpreted every little thing as more than it was. To Ralph the squirrels that gathered on their back porch proved that they were good people because animals can tell...to Leo it just meant that the pests found a fool human who wasted money on nuts and pine cones for them.
What he should've done when Ralph woke him up in his tizzy was listen, nod, hug and then receive his loving. What he did was criticize Ralph for being so damn dramatic then attempt to get his loving. Boy that didn't work well.
Now Ralph was out doing his weekend chores, Leo was stuck with cereal for Saturday morning breakfast, and they both missed out on weekend morning sex.
Could he have screwed this up any worse?
He elbowed his dresser on the way to the bathroom, cursing about it not being a funny bone, when he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looked worse for wear; his mouth drooped down and seemed to take his whole face with it.
"What are you doing here?" He whispered to himself.
An idea formed in his head and he reached in the shower to turn the water on. He washed and dressed in record speed, only taking his time when he sat to his computer to research dream interpretation books. He quickly bought and downloaded an audio version to his iPod and headed out the door, thankful for the first time that Ralph strictly adhered to his routines so Leo could find him easily.
A frantic city drive, two stops and forty-five minutes into the two hour audio and Leo parked his bright red four-door behind The Super Souper, a little hole in the wall sandwich shop that specialized in their homemade soups. Ralph's sister owned it and every Saturday Ralph would stop by for an early lunch and to help around the place if Rachel needed it.
Glancing at his watch he noted that he had just over an hour before his boyfriend would arrive, so he quickly circled the building and headed inside. It was easy to spot Rachel, she was the only one staring at him with daggers in her eyes. Okay, so Ralph already called his sister and dished about their argument.
No, that wasn't right. It wasn't an argument, it was just me shooting down Ralph's beliefs because I didn't agree with them.
Well that thought didn't make Leo feel better.
Leonard raised his hands in a placating fashion, walked toward her and most importantly...started talking before she did.
"Now, I know what you are going to say and you are completely and positively right about it all..."
When it was evident Rachel wouldn't throw Leo out he continued to tell her his plans for Ralph's weekly brunch. She got busy in the kitchen while he set up the reserved table in the corner that the family utilized.
He quickly adorned the their spot with a tablecloth and flowers that he picked up on his way here, a box of Ralph's favorite white chocolates and scented candles nestled nicely off to the right corner.
When Ralph promptly walked through the door, Leo had gone over his spiel for the tenth time. He knew Ralph would forgive him, considering some of the things they'd been through this was chump change. Yeah, forgiveness would happen without a doubt, but this wasn't about that.
Leo had a point to make, a point neither one of them would ever forget.
Ralph walked over to the table with an air of calm about him, but Leo saw his middle finger on his right hand twitch forward and back plus he kept darting his tongue out to lick the corner of his mouth.  Two tell tale signs that his lover was very anxious and not happy.
"What are you doing here, Leo?"
Leo smiled up at him, "Did you know that one of the interpretations of fireflies in dreams means longevity. Mix that with the other aspects of your dream; me, the baseball bat, and the dark cave...well one could easily stretch it to mean that even though you'd love to wallop me upside of the head for my obviously blind thinking, our relationship will still stand the test of time. Basically you're stuck with your caveman whether you like it or not."
Leo stood and took Ralph's hand in his, kissing his palm before closing his fingers around it. "Which is damn good because this state really frowns upon stalking...and I'm sorry, Ralph. You deserved so much better than I gave you this morning. I never want to hear that door slam in anger again."
Ralph looked at him with a smile forming on his face. "There wasn't a baseball bat in my dream."
"Yeah, I was giving you that as a freebie..."

Are You Ready for the Friction...

Pulp Friction that is...

What is Pulp Friction?

It's a sexy new line of mystery/suspense stories from four (yes count it...four!) talented M/M authors. The Pulp Friction stories are modern day tales with shades of the old hard-boiled detective thrown in on top of the sexy...

Um...

Well...there is your textbook answer to the question what is Pulp Friction...so now you wanna hear my answer? *waggles brows*

PF is an exciting new venture that was born in that beautiful head of Laura Harner...one day she came to Tom Webb, Lee Brazil and me and said:

"Hey...what if we swung it this way? You know, have the edginess of some hard-as-nails men doing what they do—how they do it—and getting the things done. Sure there may not be an HEA right away (if ever)...but we'll deliver the thrill of the quick read suspense with a splash of sexy! So come on...who wants to sha-wing it with me?"

Okay *blushes and ducks head*—that might not be what she said verbatim...but I was paraphrasing, honest! hehe

So that brings me to Wick...my contribution to the Pulp Friction franchise...come on—cop a squat and get to know Wick, I guarantee he'll entertain...*winks*

You can find Wicked Solutions at All Romance e-books & Amazon

Blurb:

Sometimes the only way for justice to prevail is to get a little Wicked...
People who call him know the deal. He'll solve their problems, but he'll do it his way. That's the only way Wick Templeton plays the game. His years on the force and connections to all types of specialists put him in a league of his own. That's how he intends to keep it.

An ex-boyfriend in need puts Wick on a path that crosses that of Ned Harris, a stranger who proves to be a worthy adversary.

Wick's simple agenda gets a little more complicated. Item one: Clear his ex's name. Item two: unmask the enigma that is Ned Harris.

It's a good agenda. Too bad Wick can't seem to stick to it.

And now for a small taste:

"Good boy, now sit down." Wick stepped in the opposite direction of Neer, keeping the desk between them.

As soon as Neer sat down, Wick stepped behind him and lifted his foot. He shoved the heel of his shoe into the back of the chair, moving it those extra inches so Neer grunted and his knees knocked the wall.

"And you call yourself a good guy." Neer sneered.

Wick sat at Neer's desk and very quietly set his gun down. "You're still breathing…for now. Anyway, good is such a relative term." He put on the latex gloves he had in his jacket pocket. "My mother thinks I'm a very good guy."

The next installment of Wick's story will be out on March 15th...mark your calendars *wiggles brows*

And you know...Lee Brazil released his first installment in his series the beginning of the New Year! Chances are...you're gonna love it!

Blurb/small taste:

Meet Chance:

"I'm Chance, this is my place. You want me; this is where you can find me."

The problem with that, of course, was that it wasn't my name. My name was actually Aaron Dumont.

I picked up the name Chance as a kid when my grandma kept telling me "Chances are you'll come to no good, just like your pa." She had said it so often, it just kind of stuck. I've been Chance ever since. When she passed away and left me the remains of her estate, I sold everything but a few special items then invested it all in a nest egg for a rainy day.

I figured that's what she'd intended it for anyway. She'd said as soon as I joined the police force back in the eighties. "Chances are you'll come to no good there. It's a dangerous job and you're an accident waiting to happen."

She was right too.

You can find Chances Are at All Romance e-books, Amazon

And the person who's brain child this was...the uber-talented L.E. Harner has her series starting on February 1st...want a taste of hers? Oh I know you do!

Because anything two can do, three can do better.

Master Archer found his forever with fellow Dom, Zachery, but when their discreet recovery business interferes with their personal time, Archer buys exactly what his lover needs—submissive Jeremiah.

Just A Nibble:
“Penny for your thoughts,” Archer said. His arms wrapped around me from behind, and he rested his chin on my head. I wasn’t a small man, but when Archer wrapped me up and surrounded me with his tall, lithe body, I felt…home.
“I was remembering how excited you were when you opened your first club.”
“I think my excitement stemmed from the swarthy, sexy Dom I hired to be the club manager.”
I laughed. “Yeah, some Dom I turned out to be. One look from you and I was ready to roll over and beg for it.”
Archer turned me around to face him. Cupping my face in his hands, his long, slender fingers stroked my jaw, the blue-green eyes turned stormy under heavy lids. “It took me three years to convince you and it’s only for me, Zachary. Only for me.”
My knees nearly gave way at the possessive hunger on his face. “Yes, Sir.” God, how this man turned me inside out.

Triple Threat will be available on February 1, 2013!

Excerpt:
Wick whistled while he worked, clicking on different files in Neer's computer and copy/saving them onto the brand new flash drive he had brought with him. Most of the files would end up being worthless, but he wouldn't chance missing the right one because he didn't want to transfer them all over.

"Would you mind not whistling that shit?"

Wick didn't even bother looking up, he could tell from his periphery vision that the big brute still sat proper in the chair. "Oh sorry, was that bothering you?" He licked his lips and when he blew between them the theme song for It's a Small World took flight.

"Just kill me now."

"I don't take requests. Now less talking please, I'm concentrating." He continued whistling his little ditty while he finished the last of the transfers.

He reached into his pocket for his second flash drive when he noticed a link on the M drive that he could've sworn wasn't there before. He clicked on it...nothing. He moved the mouse over it again and double clicked...still nothing.

"Say, Cliffy dah-ling. What's so special about the M drive?"

"Go to hell, fuckwad."

"Okay, that's a tad unwarranted." But it wasn't the words that got Wick's interest piqued. No, he already guessed Neer wasn't a poet. The way his back stiffened when asked about the M drive, now that interested Wick.

He messed around trying to find a back door for this elusive drive, but no go. Finally he just put his pointer over it and clicked repeatedly out of frustration.

It opened up to a password protected file.

"Well fuck me, that really does work?" He chuckled as he searched the obvious places on the desk just in case Neer's denseness equaled Brad's. Unfortunately, Neer didn't leave a handy dandy sticky note with passwords stuck anywhere. Well, this was as far as he could go without asking for help. He curled his lip up to the right, he hated asking for help.

"Hey Cliffy, wanna play a game?"

He twirled the chair so he faced the back of Neer's head and propped his feet on the desk.

"Go to hell, fuc—"

Wick raised his voice over Neer's, "There are five main swear words that are frequently used in the English language to hurt people's feelings. When used with lesser cuss words you can procure hundreds of derogatory names. When combined to make compound words your options go into the thousands, even higher if you aren't particularly worried about the grammar Nazis. If you insist on insulting me I'm going to have to ask that you change it up each time. It keeps our romance alive, keeps the spark in our relationship.

"So now, about our game. I've got a silencer in my bag here. I'm about to equip it on my gun right here in my hand." He held up the gun, when Neer attempted to look he stopped him. "What are you doing? No turning around. I really do have a silencer. You'll have to have a little faith in your dance partner on this one. Now, I'm going to ask you a few simple questions. If you answer them correctly all is well. If you don't; I shoot. Let's say, oh I don't know...I'll begin about a foot away from you, but each time I don't get the answer I want my aim will target a little closer...and yada yada yada. Get the gist of it?"

Look! A Writing Challenge! (Geoff's Teddy)

Look! A Writing Challenge!

That's right...my wonderful muse Lee Brazil tagged me in a writing challenge on FaceBook...and I had so much fun visiting my story again that I decided to post it on my blog for you all. *looks around...leans forward and whispers* yeah, I copied Lee in doing this...if you wanna see his writing challenge (and his excerpt is freaking HOT *shivers*) you can find it on his blog here...*winks*

The Rules are simple:

Find the word LOOK in one of your back list books, and then post the three paragraphs surrounding it (I cheated and did four but they are short...hehe). Post your favorite three, the ones that are most intriguing and post them...

My snippet is from Geoff's Teddy, which you can find @ Breathless Press, Amazon & All Romance ebooks (ARe)

(let me set the scene for you...Fuzzy is a straight bear who evidently isn't so straight, as the man in his bed, Geoff, can attest to...and then come the parents—oops *winks*)

His dad's chuckle floated down the hall to them. "He must have one of his girls in there fixing him up."
Fuzzy looked at Geoff's panicked and annoyed face and grinned as he whispered to him, "Hey, they had a fifty/fifty shot and just played the odds." Louder, he answered his father's comment. "You do realize I can hear you? And no, not a girl."
"We weren't whispering, honey, and you hear so well because you weren't allowed to play that rock pop music too loud."
He heard the footsteps coming down the hall. "Oh shit, the door!" he whispered into Geoff's temple.
