When Amanda C. Stone was a virgin @amandastonebks @PridePromo #bookcontest

The Adventures of Cole and Perry
Amanda C. Stone

A little while ago while promoting my holiday book with writing partner Lee Brazil, I had the privilege of playing with Amanda on her blog. She interviewed us and let me tell you...she had us going some. So when I heard she had—not only a new release—but her first release I screamed

"Oh my god you popped your cherry! You've got to come on my blog and talk about how you lost your virginity..."

Okay sure...I'm not that forward and I was referring to her writing virginity...but a girl can dream, right? So let me welcome Amanda C. Stone. I only hope I showed her a good time like she did me...*winks*

How did Cole & Perry's story come to you? Was it a long slow seduction in your mind or did they pile drive it to you all at once?
*cough* Um…
*innocent expression* What…some people get the beginning, middle and end all in one thrust and some tend to need it fed to them in bits and pieces…*winks*
Havan, you win at the interview game. Just so you know. The idea for The Anniversary slowly crept in. It was definitely a long, slow, love making for that idea to fully form. However, once I finally had that idea down on paper, The Threesome came in hard and fast, followed by The Wedding. I had to force The Fight into submission a little bit. The Baby had some trouble in its delivery, but came out healthy and happy in the end. The story that was a surprise addition to the adventure was The House. It popped up out of nowhere.

If you had to turn the experience of publishing your first book into an erotic novel…what would you title it?
The Nervous Virgin
*whispers* not any more...haha

Pick five words to describe The Adventures of Cole and Perry to us.
Not precisely what you expect.

So come on...you can tell us...who's your favorite...Cole or Perry?
But that’s like picking which kind of cake I like best! How can you only choose one?!
Honest, we won't tell them...
Perry is still a bit of an enigma to me. When authors say their characters “talk” to them, it’s true. However Perry has been mostly silent through the whole process of the book. There’s only been a handful of times when he’s put his contribution in. Now Cole. I love that man dearly but sometimes he just won’t stop. He may be tall with huge muscles, but he is a teddy bear on the inside.

What one scene in this book gave you the hardest time to write and why?
All of the stories had their challenges. But I think the one that was the hardest and I had to force the most was The Fight. I had a hard time feeling the emotions Cole was feeling. Plus writing it in a way that made the ending possible was extremely hard to do.

Now…just because I like to hit 'em hard and fast…here are a few quickies for us to get to know Cole and Perry better... :)
*snort* Hard and fast. Got it.

Most likely to get down and dirty in public…
Perry. Hands down he would show Cole off and let everyone know that Cole is his and prove it in the most carnal of ways.

Most likely to wear a fedora and rock it…
Perry. He’s got that sexy accountant look going on and could wear a fedora to work and not think twice about it. Plus he knows Cole would think it’s sexy and do it for that reason as well.

Most likely to be found barefoot…
Cole. He has a major shoe fetish and owns more pairs than all of their friends combined. But when he’s at home, he’s barefoot. Home is the place to relax.

Most likely to have a rope fetish…
*dying laughing* Oh God. Perry so does but he’s afraid Cole won’t like it. Secretly Cole wants to try that with Perry but hasn’t gotten the courage to say anything yet.

Most likely to get body art (tattoo)…
Neither. They’re not the tattoo kind of guys. Now piercings is a whole other story. Perry has considered suggesting Cole get pierced in a few places.

Most likely to eat food in bed…
Cole would try it. However Perry would pitch a fit. Crumbs are not fun.

Most likely to be silly and break out into a song and dance number…
Cole. He’s goofy like that and doesn’t care what others think too much.

Most likely to find a stray animal and bring it home…
Most would assume Cole since he’s the one with the soft heart. But truly it would be Perry. He doesn’t like seeing anyone lost and hurt.

Most likely to go commando...
Cole does on a regular basis.

Most likely to blow off plans and talk the other into staying in bed all day…
Perry’s the one that wants to do it the most. But he also feels like he needs to be the responsible one. Cole understands that Perry needs those kinds of days so he’ll suggest it and make Perry feel good about not having to be the one that suggested they slack off.

Most likely to have a sweet tooth…
Cole. Anything that is remotely sweet and it’s his new favorite food.

In a silly battle of wills…most likely to refrain from…um…pleasuring themselves the longest…
No, no, no. You’ve got that backwards. Perry will be the one to keep Cole from self pleasure. However Cole will make a comment about how it’s easy for Perry to suggest it when he can do it whenever he wants. Which of course goads Perry into abstaining at the same time. Then it becomes a battle on who holds out the longest; Cole from begging, or Perry from throwing the whole idea away and getting down to the fun stuff.

Cole's favorite color?
The color of Perry’s eyes.

Perry's favorite flavor of ice cream?
Orange crème.

Cole's favorite alcoholic beverage?
He’s a beer kind of guy.

Perry's favorite movie?
Under penalty of death you will not tell anyone that it’s When Harry Met Sally

Cole's favorite guilty pleasure song?
Cole is a huge Miley fan. Party in the USA? Heck yeah!

Perry's favorite place to be kissed?
Adam’s apple. When Cole pays extra special attention there, fun times are had.

And now that we know more about your boys...I think we are ready to dig into The Adventures of Cole and Perry...

Blurb
It all started when Cole met Perry in a bar. Over three years they had some exciting adventures, and misadventures. The six stories included in this book are all about their journey from bar to wedding.
The Anniversary
Another cancellation of plans by his boyfriend forces Cole out to the neighborhood bar. Not long after arriving he meets Perry. Even as exciting as Perry is, he's unsure how the night will end.
The Fight
Cole and Perry are struggling to make time for each other and constantly at each other’s throats. A fight to the death will decide who is right or wrong in their arguments. But Cole really doesn't want to shoot Perry.
The Threesome
Deciding they want to spice up things in the bedroom, Perry wants to have a one-time threesome. Cole's nervous and doesn't want to ask any of their friends to join them. Perry finds the perfect solution.
The House
After two and a half years together, Cole and Perry want to buy a house. Once they find the perfect house, they get to spend their first morning together in their new space. Perry will have to help Cole decide which room is his favorite.
The Baby
Both Cole and Perry are exhausted. Taking care of a three month old is hard when she's up all night and is always hungry. If only they could find where they put the bottle warmer.
The Wedding
Cole is ready to make his commitment to Perry life-long. After careful planning, they created the perfect event. What could possibly go wrong? If only Cole didn't ask the same question.

We've got blurbage:
Barista Jimmy Patterson thinks it's a good idea to get rip-roaring drunk on his birthday after he’s dumped by his boyfriend. When the burly owner of Stonewall’s Bar rescues Jimmy, the night starts to look up.

Now Jimmy just wants to know the bartender's first name since he's worn a different name tag every time Jimmy's seen him. "Guy" Stone gives Jimmy seven guesses, one for each night he takes Jimmy out on a date.

While Jimmy’s trying to come up with his name, he's distracted by the destruction of his coffee shop and what looks more and more like a hate crime.

And a sneak peek:
Stonewall [Saloon] was chaos when I got there. Guy and another bartender were mixing drinks as fast as they could. I squeezed in at the end of the bar near the hatchway and sat on an abandoned stool there.

I didn’t think Guy had seen me come in, so when there was a lull in the frenetic pace and he was nearly within arm’s reach, I called out, “What’s a guy gotta do to get a drink in this place?”

Guy looked up, grinned at me, and yelled back, “Fuck the bartender.”

A slim man sitting next to me perked up, gave Guy the once-over, and yelled, “Okay!”

Guy’s startled gaze met mine, and we broke out laughing.

The man next to me sighed and slumped over his beer. “I knew it was too good to be true,” he mumbled.

I patted him on the shoulder.

“Maybe next time,” I commiserated with him.

“Right,” he answered glumly.

Excerpt:
Again, I questioned my sanity. Something was odd in my world for sure. My heart was beating double time when he finally turned onto my street. A quick escape was my best bet. I had my fingers wrapped around the car door handle and was ready to rip my other hand from his grasp when he slowed down. He must have sensed my intent to bolt, because he held on to me until I was forced to give him a “what the fuck?” look.

“Let me walk you to your door.”

“Jake, let’s not do this. Please. I really don’t want this evening to get any weirder than it already has been. Thank you for tonight. For dinner and pretending to—”

“Hey, nothing is weird here. It’s dark, and I’m walking you to your door—”

“I’m a big boy. I’ve got this.” I detached my hand from his grip and opened the door.

“Thanks again.”

When I reached the sidewalk, he was waiting for me. The man obviously was hard of hearing.

“You are stubborn.” I gave him my best evil eye before I trudged up the path ahead of him.

“Me? You’re the difficult one. I’m trying to be nice—”

“You don’t have to prove you’re nice to me. I get it. That doesn’t mean—suit yourself.”

“Humor me.”

I fished my key from my pocket as I approached the well-lit front porch.

“Here I am, safe and sound. No need for worry,” I said flippantly as I turned to Jake.

“You ca—”

I swallowed my words. He was closer than I expected. Much closer. I felt the warmth from his body but wasn’t prepared for the hunger I saw in his eyes. I licked my bottom lip nervously. I knew what was going to happen, and though I wasn’t sure it was a good idea, I wasn’t going to stop him. He bent slightly and brushed his nose against mine. I felt his breath on my lips as I waited for him to close the distance between us. Neither of us moved. He smelled delicious, that intoxicating combination of soap and a hint of musky cologne I’d noticed the morning he hugged me in my kitchen. I could have happily buried my nose in his shirt or in the curve where his neck met his shoulders. I closed my eyes and leaned in the tiniest bit closer, expecting him to take over. He still didn’t move.

“Aren’t you going to ki—”

And then he pounced. He crashed his mouth over mine and snaked his arms around my waist, fusing our bodies together. His hands traveled up and down my back while he licked a sensual line across the seam of my lips, requesting entry. I heard myself moan as his tongue danced and collided with mine in a lustful assault. I arched into him instinctively. Jake lowered his hands to my ass, drawing me in tightly as he thrust his hips forward. The friction was hot, and his demanding kisses had my head reeling. This was nothing like our frantic make-out sessions years ago.

Just as that errant thought surfaced to remind me whom I was grinding against like a teenager on my front porch, Jake turned his full attention to my mouth. I was painfully hard, but he was right. We shouldn’t be doing any of this. But I couldn’t seem to stop myself. I bit at his jaw and then licked my way to his ear, flicking the lobe gently with my tongue until I felt his teeth at my neck. I made a strangled sound and went limp in his arms. He was overpowering in a subtle, almost unexpected way. I was two seconds away from ripping his shirt when a car went down my street blaring hip-hop music at an obscene volume. I pulled away and rested my forehead against his shoulder. We stood quietly catching our breath for a moment.

Then Jake pressed a soft kiss on my cheek and stepped away. “Good night, Bran. Thank you for… well, just thank you. I’ll see you soon.”

I stared after him like an idiot, watching him open his door and start the SUV. I heard the familiar hum of distant traffic and smelled the fragrant sweet star jasmine from my neighbor’s garden. Everything looked and seemed to be in place, but something was different.

Happy New Year & Story Orgy Monday...

Happy Story Orgy Monday!

The pretty Happy New Year picture up there *points up* Well, I was supposed to post that 5 days ago...um yeah...thank god I didn't make a New Year's Resolution to blog on a regular basis on time...smh...and please don't let that be a sign as to how my blogging year will turn out either...lmao!

Okay, this is the new year and I'm gonna try real freaking hard to post a snippet every Monday – but that doesn't mean I'm doing a continuing story every week...I might...I might not. It just depends on what the voices in my head agree to.

This week I'm cheating—kinda—by giving you the first part of my book I'm working on. I was able to fit the prompt in so it isn't a full fledged cheating...just a kinda type of cheating lol...hope you enjoy – this should be released as a solo book (the first of a trilogy) real soon. :)

Prompt:  All of my observations are sarcasm-based.

And now for your reading pleasure...

Embry Litten held the coffee house door open for Joss Leer, his best friend and local gossipmonger. Too bad the gossip he determined to spread that day was entirely about Em.
"I'm just saying dude, the monk lifestyle is getting old. Come on, it's been two years. Two years of nothing but self gratification is a long time, and you're too much of a cutie to be going it alone every single ti—"
"That's enough." Em hissed in Joss's ear.
After twenty years of being best friends, Em couldn't even feign surprise over the very loud lack of tact Joss showed, but what could he do? The same twenty years proved them to be more family than friends, and just like an annoying brother, no matter how much Em didn't like Joss right now he still loved the damn infuriating man...
...that everyone in Bean There Drank That evidently heard and found amusing.
Oh this proved promising.
People glanced over their mugs, or croissants, or newspapers to check the self gratifier out, smirking and quickly averting their gazes when Em caught them peeping, as if they were privy to some deep dark hush-hush secret.
Come to think of it, they kind of were now – than again on the flip side the same event that let them in on the secret made it not a secret anymore. Semantics?
Either way, none of it mattered. If Embry wanted people to know his celibacy state he would've tattooed it across his forehead—but hey, who needs the pain and torture of a tattoo needle bumping against their skull when they had a Joss at their beck and call, all too willing to provide an even more deliberate pain and torture.
"This conversation is officially over." Em hissed in his best friend's ear. "Uh uh uh..." Em cut off any response Joss thought to come up with when his mouth opened. "Over." Em reaffirmed as they continued to the counter.
"Fine." Joss pouted.
"And if you do anything to get us kicked out of here before I get my coffee, so help me god I will tell your mother."
Joss's shocked look was an Oscar worthy performance. "When have I ever done anything so scandalous?"
Em raised his eyebrow. Did Joss really try to play the innocent card? He ticked off occasions on his fingers. "Oh let's see...the skating rink on my thirteenth birthday. The mall when we went to get those boots you just had to have for your prom date with Troy. Old Man Butler's house on Halloween. The Donut Shoppe every other morning on our walk to high school. Disney World during our vacation..."
Running out of fingers, Em took a breath then switched hands to continue with his countdown, but Joss waved him to a halt.
"Come on, we were kids! We're in our thirties now. I'm all growned up, my mommy even said so." It was almost cute how Joss puffed out his chest with pride.
"Disney was last year, and don't give me that crap you didn't know you weren't allowed to paw Pluto...which by the way is actually a woman in that costume."
"Really? Damn, talk about false advertising. I knew I shoulda gone after Aladdin, he enjoyed the wiggle I put in my walk."
"You're calling the blisters you suffered that day a wiggle in your walk?"
"Hey! I owned those blisters...and Aladdin liked it. Anyway, are all your observations sarcasm based? Isn't that my role in our friendship?"
Em's comeback was cut short by the most amazing sound in the world. A deep chuckle floated into Em's body through every pore and intoxicated him better than a gallon of his uncle's moonshine could do.
The most amazing baritone followed the soul clenching chuckle. "What can I get you two?"
Reminiscent to one of those telling scenes in a horror movie when the character suddenly realizes the big bad is behind him and slow motion occurs when he turns to look over his shoulder. Em looked behind him to see who could possibly stand up to owning that voice.
Oh shit, he wasn't disappointed.
The barista behind the counter looked more like a mountain than a man. His sheer height impressed, but when added to his wide shoulders and thick chest he was formidable. If he was only massive Em might've been able to drool a little then move on with his life, but the man had more going for him than his size. He had a few hairs—not a lot, just enough—escape the "V" of his button down forest green shirt that begged for Em to curl his fingers in them, playfully tug on them. The light brown hair was smattered with a deeper, sexy gray that matched the stubble of his beard and mustache. Em figured he would have five o'clock shadow no matter what time of day, and god that idea heated up his loins. The perfectly shaped lips encased in the rough looking stubble tilted up in a knowing smirk.
Shit...busted.
Even though Em's first instinct was to run and hide, he had to see the rest, had to know what color eyes were probably laughing at him with that smile. It was a short distance up from those lips to his final destination and... Green. He stood there and stared into bottomless emerald green eyes.
If the eyes were indeed the gateway to a person's soul, than this man had the brightest, deepest soul ever.
Em could imagine being conquered by this mountain, being made to enjoy the physical aspect of living and loving he had all but banished from his life.
